About Strube
Strube Celery and Vegetable Company is the oldest federally licensed wholesale produce company in the Chicago area. Established in 1913 by Fred Strube, Strube has grown over the years to become a nationally recognized model of a successful wholesale produce business, as well as, a good example of a four generation family business.

Strube is a nationally recognized business leader in the fresh produce industry. By maintaining the highest rating possible in the Blue Book and Red Book, Strube continues to demonstrate its’ commitment to all segments of the produce industry for moral and honest dealings. The presence of Strube personnel in industry programs and on boards of directors of major produce associations continues to demonstrate our dedication to the industry.

Strube is a company who believes in leading by example and giving back to the community. We have been involved in the start of food assistance programs for the hungry in the Chicago area. Strube was a founding member of The Greater Food Depository and has maintained support with products and a board presence on The Church Anti Hunger Federation and The Chicago Anti Hunger Federation.

Robert Strube, former president of Strube Celery and Vegetable Company, established the Food Depository along with other community leaders in 1978. The Food Depository, Chicago's food bank, distributed more than 46 million pounds of food last year to 500,000 hungry people in Cook County.
Donations are always welcome in honor of Bob and Helen Strube to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
